Account scope

An assistant connected to Pilot only reads the active ad accounts, Google Analytics properties and Search Console sites attached to the workspace it was authorized to read. A platform access often sees more, for example an agency's whole portfolio: Pilot applies the rule itself, before and after every call.

What is attachedCopy Anchor Link

You attach accounts at the Choose the accounts step, then in Connectors. Only active accounts count. Depending on the platform, they are:

Identifiers are compared in a normalized form: 123-456-7890 equals 1234567890 for Google Ads, act_1234 equals 1234 for Meta, a property is written 123456789 or properties/123456789, a site sc-domain:example.com or by its URL.

How the assistant picks the accountCopy Anchor Link

• The tool names an account: the account must be attached, otherwise the call is refused with the list of usable accounts. A list of accounts is refused as a whole as soon as one of them is not attached.
• The tool names no account: Pilot uses the platform's first attached account, in alphabetical order of names. A Google manager account comes after client accounts.
• Several accounts on one platform: every read receives an optional account_id parameter, the account selector, that says which one to target. Without it, the tool reads the default account.
• Google Analytics and Search Console: the property and the site are optional for your assistant; without them, Pilot uses the first attached property or site, by name.
• Tools that list accounts only return attached accounts, under comptes_rattaches or comptes.

Special casesCopy Anchor Link

• Google manager account (MCC). It stays usable if it is attached and named. A free-form GAQL query (google_run_query) on a manager account is refused: it would list the accounts it manages, beyond your workspace. google_list_accounts lists the attached accounts.
• Meta reads by identifier. A campaign, ad set, ad or pixel read by its identifier must belong to an attached account. Pilot checks the response and returns nothing otherwise. A pixel owned by a Business Manager rather than an ad account is not returned.
• Unified Google connection. A Google connection made through the unified access carries the Google account's address, not a property or a site: it does not count as attached. Attach the property or the site itself.

Messages your assistant receivesCopy Anchor Link

When a call steps outside the scope, it is refused before it reaches the platform, and the assistant receives a message that says what to do. Messages are in French; your assistant relays them in your language. The names and identifiers below are examples.

Account named but not attached:

Error: Le compte publicitaire Google Ads 9999999999 n'est pas rattaché à cet espace Pilot. Comptes publicitaires Google Ads utilisables :

No account attached on the platform:

Free-form query on a manager account:

Error: Une requête GAQL vise un compte client, pas un compte administrateur : MCC agence (555-555-5555) est un compte administrateur (MCC), et sa requête listerait les comptes qu'il gère, au-delà de ceux de cet espace Pilot. Nommez un compte client avec customer_id ; google_list_accounts liste les comptes rattachés à l'espace.

Accounts briefly unreadable:

Error: Les comptes publicitaires Google Ads rattachés à cet espace Pilot n'ont pas pu être lus : l'appel est refusé par précaution. Réessayez dans un instant.

This last message does not mean no account is attached: do not undo your connections, retry.

What you can doCopy Anchor Link

• Add an account: the workspace's Connectors page, the platform's card. The account counts in your plan if it is an ad account (see Limits and plans).
• Remove an account: remove it from the selection on its platform's card, in Connectors; your assistant can no longer read it from the next call.
• Separate clients: open one workspace per client, and connect each assistant to its workspace's address.
